How long did it take your african american hair to grow long naturally? if you have dreads or an afr

i have been growing it out for 2 years. its an afro. its very tightly curled. well when it is straight its a bob. its a curly afro now. you can look at my yahoo 360 profile to see my pics. but i am wondering how long it takes to get my hair to my shoulders or like cree summers/how kelis' used to be prior to bossy. when i was little it was just like theirs but past my shoulders. my hair grew out of the perm curlier and coarser. i have multiracial hair btw. i am blk, white, and cheerokee. so my hair is curly and afro like at the same time. it was really long and curly and in these long ponytails when i was 5 years old. so i am wondering how long that will take. like the next 5-6 years. i don't plan on perming it one, and i don't plan on dying it either. i also wonder if the perm my hair made my hair grow slower, or maybe because i am 21. could it be that that is why? i mean i suffered no damage from the 6 years of perming my hair. so i don't get why it isn't growing faster.
