Can hair grow unevenly in two days?

I just got my hair cut two days ago, and, on the day it was cut, I didn't notice anything wrong with it. Today, however, when I looked in the mirror, I saw that one side was noticeably longer than the other (noticeably as in half an inch or so longer). Is it possible for hair to grow like that, or did the lady cut my hair unevenly? And if the latter is true, why didn't I notice at first?
