Actualy, you can buy a hair removal cream that will make the hair grow back finer..Check the beauty supply aisle..In Wal-mart it's behind the makeup..Veet and Nair are good ones. You can also look for one that has a hair growth inhibitor..That makes the hair grow back slower with normal use..So in answer to your question, no it def does not make the hair grow back thicker and darker..Shaving does though

I used to use cream and it does make it grow back thicker but not as fast as shving would. it doesn't gorw back longer. And it took my hair about 4 days to grow back to stubble not its origonal length. may be different for you as i'm a woman and that was underarm hair and i don't have chest hair so i wouldn't know. xD
